I wouldn't say it's more compliated, but the Empires titles (regardless of Dynasty Warriors or Samurai Warriors) are somewhat different from the usual games. There's still the familiar gameplay and all, but there's somewhat more strategy involved. Also, the Empires games aren't split into individual character stories like the main series titles, and instead have scenarios where the goal is to help the kingdom you choose to serve unite the land, or take the mantle of leader and unite the land under your banner. Of course, as pointed out, the familiar Warriors style is still present, as you can battle against enemy armies to either claim kingdoms or defend your own.So really, it comes down to whether you want to play the main series and each character's story in Japan's Sengoku era, or if you want to try your hand at conquering all of ancient China, either as a loyal servant of your lord or as a leader of an entire nation.
