I loved SimIsle and used to play it a bunch as a kid, but having dug it up a year or so ago, sad to say that it doesn't stand up to the test of time as well as SC2000 or Sim Tower.It was a cool concept, had some cool features, and I liked that it actually had an ecological balance play mechanic (finite resources, too much development/tourism is bad for the indigenous population, etc.). The Agent system mechanic was cool, too, in that each agent had their own set of skills (which you could improve), so you'd have to hire a team that between them could meet all your needs. There weren't many games at the time that were doing anything like that.However, playing it nowadays, it feels like an unfinished game. I definitely feel like it's one of Maxis' underappreciated games, but it's less of a game and more of one of Maxis' 'toys' like Sim Golf.
